Urgent: Act now to support 100% clean energy and job creation!

Last year, Gov. Phil Murphy signed an executive order to accelerate New Jersey’s clean energy targets and set the state on a path toward achieving 100% clean electricity by 2035.

But New Jersey needs that commitment to be put into law so that it becomes permanent and can’t be changed after Gov. Murphy leaves office. Our legislators need to know we support legislation that does exactly that.

Transitioning to clean energy plays a crucial role toward building a brighter future for New Jersey. Passing this legislation will not only make the state a national leader in the energy landscape, it will also create 24,000 in-state, family sustaining, predominantly union jobs in the electric generation sector. It will also save consumers money by taking advantage of massive federal incentives available under the Inflation Reduction Act, making the path to carbon-free electricity cheaper and achievable on a faster timeline.

Additionally, not only will these strong actions help reduce greenhouse gas emissions faster and foster a prosperous clean energy economy, they’ll make our communities healthier by reducing harmful co-pollutants, which is critical for communities that have been historically overburdened by pollution.
